It’s Official! Guy Wong To Open Ruby Chow’s in Former Gekko Sushi Space

Plans this week were filed for the chef's top-secret restaurant project in Old Fourth Ward.

Chef Guy Wong is moving forward with plans to open Ruby Chow’s in Old Fourth Ward.

The restaurant will replace the now-shuttered Gekko Sushi (Repast before that) near Ponce City Market (PCM), according to permits filed for the project this week.

Expected work to the 3,179-square-foot space, at 620 Glen Iris Dr. NE Suite C in Ponce Springs Lofts, includes the addition of a “10-seat bar,” some new equipment in the kitchen, and a remodel of the bathrooms.

Wong teased the project January 1 on his private Instagram page.

“2018 we said goodbye to Miso Izakaya after 10 years,” Wong posted to the social media site.

“2019 I’m going to introduce you to Ruby Chow’s…”

Mums the word on what the restaurant will entail.

The chef on multiple occasions did not respond to What Now Atlanta’s requests for comment.

Wong, co-owner of the Westside’s Le Fat, and Ton Ton and Miso Ko in PCM, is ignoring other media too.
