Six Feet Under Pub and Fish House will relocate its long-time Westside restaurant to Cheshire Bridge Road.

A permit was recently filed in Atlanta to demolish interior portions of the roughly 4,500-square-foot building at 1824 Cheshire Bridge Road, the former ROXX Tavern.

The permit listed an email for Tad Mitchell, who owns Six Feet Under with his wife, Nancy.

In an email to What Now Atlanta, Mitchell said that the project will bring Six Feet Under to Cheshire Bridge.

“We are planning to relocate our Six Feet Under Pub and Fish House from 11th St. to 1824 Cheshire Bridge,” Mitchell said in the email. “Sometime in the middle of 2023.”

Six Feet Under operates two locations in Atlanta. The original location opened in Grant Park near Oakland Cemetery in the early 2000s, according to a 2006 article from Atlanta Business Chronicle

The Mitchells opened a second location at 685 11th Street around 2007. The restaurant is known for its rooftop overlooking the Atlanta skyline.

Urbanize Atlanta reported in August that the block containing the Westside location of Six Feet Under was on the market for sale.

But, Mitchell said that “Six Feet Under West Midtown has not sold. Rumors and miscommunication abound. In regards to Cheshire Bridge, we have been wanting to test a smaller footprint well before the pandemic. The Cheshire Bridge area has been a point of interest at our house for years.”

Update: This story has been updated with additional comments from Tad Mitchell.
