Well, it’s official. D.C.-based salad chain Sweetgreen is making its Peach State debut at Ponce City Market on June 8th. The chain, which specializes in seasonal and year-round salads, grain bowls, and plates, is a go-to healthy lunch spot in cities like New York, D.C., and Boston.
Sweetgreen’s whole thing is sustainability. In fact, the chain’s newest mission is to become completely carbon neutral by 2027. The menu is plant-forward, with ingredients sourced from small and mid-size farmers, many of whom, like Sweetgreen, are committed to decarbonizing the food system.
Given the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability, it’s sort of a no brainer why Sweetgreen has chosen Ponce City Market as its first stop in Atlanta. PCM is the largest adaptive use project in the city, and was developed using a whole lot of recycled and reused materials.
Now, the property boasts tons of energy-saving and environmentally friendly features, including an irrigation system that uses recaptured rain water and high efficiency plumbing.
Sustainability talk aside, there’s nothing quite like a salad from Sweetgreen. They’re big, hearty, and packed with fresh ingredients, almost as though you’ve picked and prepared each ingredient yourself.
