August 29 is the barbecue joint’s last day on Westmont Road.
The Mustard Seed will shutter its Oakland City location, at 826 Westmont Road, for good Saturday, August 29, the restaurant tweeted late Wednesday.
“To all our valued customers. We will not be closing, just moving to a bigger and better location,” The Mustard Seed posted to the social media site after a What Now Atlanta (WNA) reader inquired about the closing.
The barbecue joint will open a new location in Fairburn, at 6000 Lynmark Way, in the Village Shops at Cedar Grove shopping center.
These series of tweets followed:
- “We love you guys it’s just that through your support we’ve grown. But we’re not leaving you we’re just making it better for you guys.”
- “Please bare with us and I promise we’ll leave you in good hands and make it worth your while to travel to our new location.”
- “Saturday will be our last day at Westmont…”
The Mustard Seed’s location in the Pittsburg neighborhood of Atlanta, at 668 Metropolitan Parkway SW, will remain in business. Owner Bert McCray Jr. was not immediately available for comment.
