Owners ‘flip’ former HD1 into burger joint.

FLIP burger is now open in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, according to a press release Sunday.

The restaurant, which replaced HD1 at 664 N. Highland Avenue (HD1 closed after dinner service Sunday, August 18HD1 was owned by the group behind FLIP), opened for business on Sunday, November 24.

“We are fully committed to growing the FLIP brand and expanding our strong reputation for innovative food in a high energy and fun environment, Barry Mills, co-owner, said in the release.

“Moving forward, FLIP Burger Boutique will be our primary focus.”

The new location now features a rooftop patio with open air dining and outdoor service options — an upgrade that was originally slated to open at HD1 this past spring.

The Poncey-Highland location is the fourth restaurant for the FLIP brand.

[Editor’s note: HD1 originally replaced San Francisco Coffee when it relocated two doors down.]
