Naticakes Sweet Shop to open first Georgia location in Buckhead.
Although it won’t be serving hamburgers, Buckhead’s newest fusion bakery is combining two of Atlanta’s favorite munchies: yogurt and cupcakes (as if we had a choice, that is).
Naticakes Sweet Shop will replace the now shuttered Java Blues space on Lavista, according to a building permit filed with City of Atlanta. Creative Loafing first broke this news in its Gravy Train column.
Naticakes’ website confirms an Atlanta location is “coming soon.” The yogurt shop and bakery currently has locations in Tennessee and Kentucky, according to its website.
Naticakes was not immediately available for comment and the timeline for opening its Atlanta location has not been confirmed.
This is the last thing ATL needs IMO.
Wasn’t the whole cupcake thing over about a year and a half ago?
Regardless of the number of yogurt and/or cupcake places – if they have a good product and people discover it, it’s a good addition. If their product is bad and/or people don’t discover it, it will fail. It’s as easy as that. Yes, there are a lot of yogurt places. There are a lot of hamburger places. There are a lot of cupcake places. There are lot of . However, I have never once not been able to find the restaurant/shop I desire because we have so many yogurt/burger/cupcake places.

Caleb – Any update on this? They’ve been working on the space for a while and today I noticed the new sign that just went up says Cups and Cakes. Checked the Naticakes website and no mention of the “coming soon” Atlanta location now.
