Sommelier-operated wine shop to be called ‘Cellar Door’

Canoe, located at 4199 Paces Ferry Road, is opening Cellar Door, a sommelier-operated wine shop, according to a press release Thursday.

Canoe wine director, Matt Bradford, will stock Cellar Door with wines and beer that showcase Canoe’s high quality at a variety of price points.

“Canoe has developed a reputation in Atlanta’s fine dining scene for its expansive wine list,” Bradford said in the release.

“I want Cellar Door to showcase many of the same libations that Canoe has to offer, but also have its own personality and presence.”

Located adjacent to Canoe, Cellar Door will feature more than 750 selections of wine from around the world, ranging in price from $9 to over $1000.

Cellar Door will have a monthly wine club, offering members perks and tips from Bradford, as well as periodic tastings on the banks of the Chattahoochee. In addition to wine, there will be a large selection of craft beer hand-picked by Bradford, the release notes.

Canoe’s Cellar Door could open as early as December of this year, January 2014 at the latest.
