Grapes & Grains owner Ty Dealy has leased a space on the border of Chamblee and North Brookhaven at 4783 Peachtree Road for a second drive-thru liquor store, which has a tentative opening date of June 1.

The first Grapes & Grains location opened on September 2 of 2019 at 3719 Old Alabama Rd in John’s Creek, and currently has a selection of over 6,000 different beers, wines and spirits, according to the retailer’s website. Dealy told What Now Atlanta that their decision to start a drive-thru service was inspired by the pharmacy window already built into the former Rite-Aid building, but was ultimately a boon amid the pandemic. The Peachtree Road location will also have a drive-thru and utilize the same touchless mobile ordering system via the Grapes & Grains app.

The second store will also sport the same weathered barn wood aesthetic of its predecessor but will vary slightly due to the limitations of the new building, formerly the site of antique store Metropolitan Artifacts: Dealy said that “this one is a little bit more eclectic.”

  • I haven’t been there in ages but NC used to have these drive-thru liquor barns where you basically pulled in and window-shopped through your own car window. It was great.
