Salon Planning New Space in Stone Mountain

A local hair salon is planning a new space in Stone Mountain.

The business called Afro Braids and Beauty Bar is planning to open a salon soon at 1825 Rockbridge Road SW, according to a building permit application with Gwinnett County. The building permit application proposes to open a proportional wall of the 1,200-square-foot space to create an open concept for the salon.

The space is located at Stone Mountain Festival, a shopping center located off US-78 and about 1.5 miles from Stone Mountain Park.

Afro Braids and Beauty Bar LLC was created in March 2024, according to a filing with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. The salon is currently located at 5370 Stone Mountain Highway. The salon offers services for hair, eyelashes and eyebrows.

The salon is expected to open the new space in a few weeks, owner Fatoumata Keita Canner told What Now Atlanta.
