Home interiors shop will open October 2 in former ‘Movies Worth Seeing’ space.
Furnishing a new place soon?
Owner Laurie Scholl plans to open The Wish List, an antiques and interiors store, at 1409-B North Highland Avenue in the Morningside neighborhood. The Lanier Boulevard-facing retail outlet will move into the space formerly occupied by Movies Worth Seeing.
“I love the surrounding neighborhood, and there’s so much real estate activity and many people moving to Virginia-Highland,” Scholl told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation this week. “The Wish List wants to be a part of that transition and will focus on home furnishes in addition to other antiques.”
Scholl, who has an MBA from Georgia Tech and worked at Yellow Pages, has been selling antiques online and through other businesses full-time for three years after a career in internet marketing.
“I have experience helping small businesses promote their products online, and antiques run in the family with my mother and aunt selling them as well. The Wish List will bring it all together for me.”
The antiques store will have a grand opening event the evening of October 2 with the shop open for business starting on October 3.
Think The Wish List will be able to capitalize on the droves of people moving to Morningside? Let us know in the comments section below!
This is in Morningside Village behind Rosebud, etc right?
Yes that’s correct!
I have been following Laurie Scholl’s antiques online as well as in other stores, and so excited to see it all come together at The Wish List! She has a wonderful eye and talent and has helped me with many personal ‘wish list’ items! Can’t wait!
This is actually in Morningside, not Virginia-Highland.
Hey Chip, thanks for pointing this out. The change has been made to the article now, though Scholl’s comment is a direct quote so that remains the same. Thanks!
