Fifth Third Bank appears to have plans to construct a new location on a 1.37-acre tract of land at 3654 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, according to planning records for Hall County filed earlier this year. The building is expected to be 2,400 square feet with two drive-thru lanes and will be located near a Kroger, according to building plans.

The Cincinnati-based bank offers services such as lending, mobile banking, insurance options, investment services, wealth planning resources and business and commercial banking. The bank has a strong presence in the Midwest and the Southeast, with more than 1,100 locations and thousands of ATMS.

The bank has 33 locations in the Greater Atlanta area listed on its website. It has been in expansion mode in the state recently. Within the past couple years, What Now Atlanta has reported on locations heading to Suwanee, Gainesville, Sugar Hill and Chastain Park.

As of now, there is no word on when this new Gainesville location would open along Thompson Bridge Road. The branch has been in the planning stages throughout the year, seeking approvals for zoning changes and proposed site plans.
