Nhan Le and Skip Engelbrecht, the owners of 8ARM and Octopus Bar, have secured a lease for their planned seafood retail concept Fishmonger. The 750-square-foot boutique market will be located in the Plaza on Ponce shopping center, according to a press release Tuesday from SRS Real Estate Partners. Fishmonger is slated to open early-spring 2021.

Fishmonger will offer fresh regional seafood for retail and wholesale as well as a small daily to-go lunch menu — house-made whitefish salads, house-made bottarga, regional oysters, soups, and sandwiches — in a boutique-style environment.

“We’ve been looking for just the right spot to open this concept, and when we saw the space, we knew it was perfect,” Engelbrecht said in the release. “There really isn’t anything like this in Atlanta. We are excited to share our love of regional seafood with the city.”

Plaza on Ponce, in Atlanta’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood, is home to two Atlanta landmarks. The Plaza Theatre, the “oldest” cinema in operation since 1939, and the Majestic Diner, the 1929-established eatery. Other tenants include Georgia Boy/Southern Belle by Chef Joey Ward, Jinya Ramen Bar, the Righteous Room, Urban Outfitters, and Insomnia Cookies.

Adrienne Crawford, senior vice president, Lily Heimburger, senior vice president, and Allie Spangler, senior associate, with SRS represented the landlord.
