The retailer is coming soon to Ponce City Market’s main level.
The Frye Company will open its Atlanta flagship store Friday, August 7, the footwear, bags, and accessories manufacturer Wednesday announced in a press release.
The New York-based retailer, a subsidiary of Global Brands Group that touts itself as “the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the U.S.,” is making a 4,000-square-foot space on the main level of Ponce City Market (PCM) its new home come next week.
PCM is a reimagined mixed-use development from Jamestown Properties. The property, originally built in 1926, was formerly home to Sears Roebuck.
“The storefront replicates the warehouse windows seen above the main level, and the columns, original to the structure, will be wrapped in leather referencing the history of the Frye brand,” according to the release.
The PCM sore will feature “an enormous installation known to the brand as the ‘chandelier’, consisting of 7000 leather straps holding Frye’s signature harness rings.”
The new Atlanta outpost will retail the brand’s footwear and accessories for men, women, and children.
The Frye Co. was founded in 1863 and has flagship stores in New York City, Boston, Georgetown, and Chicago.
