The retailer’s first weekend will include cooking demonstrations, book signings.
Williams-Sonoma will open its Ponce City Market (PCM) store Friday, August 28, the retailer in a press release announced this week.
The Old Fourth Ward store will be the retailer’s fifth location nationally to include a Williams–Sonoma Home Showroom and Design Center, and the first in the south. The Home Showroom with Design Center offers complimentary design services with a complete selection of custom fabrics, swatches of wood finishes, and rug samples available onsite or in-home.
Williams-Sonoma and celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman’s yet-to-be-named restaurant will be adjoined by a glass wall.

Friday, August 28
- 9 a.m. Ribbon Cutting
- 10 a.m. Store Opens
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fried Chicken Demonstration with Chef Sarah Simmons
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nespresso Demonstration
- 12 – 4 p.m. Williams-Sonoma Cookware Vendors & Complimentary Knife Sharpenings
- 2 – 4 p.m. Local Peach Artisans Market, including Atomic Ice Cream Sandwiches, Jaemor Farms, Pie Local & Preserving Place
- 2 – 4 p.m. Book Signing with Chef Steven Satterfield of Miller Union
Saturday, August 29
- 10 a.m. Junior Chef Pizza Class
- 1 – 3 p.m. Book Signing with Trisha Yearwood, country superstar, Food Network standout and bestselling cookbook author
