Lustre Pearl has multiple locations, one of which is Lustre Pearl East in East Austin. During a routine health inspection at the outlet, the inspectors observed that a certified food manager was not present during the inspection, who is supposed to be present during all hours of operation.

Inspectors found the handwashing sinks lacked required supplies and hot water. The inspector noticed stored food was not covered, packaged, or wrapped to prevent cross-contamination. Observed food in the reach-in freezer, prep cooler, and walk-in cooler left uncovered.

Concentration of sanitizer in the sanibucket was found at 0ppm during the inspection. Food-contact surfaces were not clean to the sight and touch. The establishment failed to clean the ice machine at a frequency to prevent the accumulation of dirt or mold.

The inspection report mentions that the establishment failed to discard the ranch held past the 7 days. There were multiple other violations related to pest infestation and storage of toxic chemicals, which are all mentioned in the inspection report.

A re-inspection is expected at the Lustre Pearl East by August 14, 2025. The re-inspection will check whether unresolved violations have been corrected.
