Braker Lane’s Chick Fil A, located at 10901 Research Boulevard in Austin, will begin a pricey and robust improvement project between April and June, according to recent public records.
The project, which will cost around $1,003,000, will at the very least consist of revamping the location’s drive thru system: “Remove existing kiosk building and conveyor bridge. Extend length of 2nd drive-thru lane. Add Tormax door and new team door. Add new Order Meal Delivery Canopy. Modify-extend drive-thru cockpit. Modify existing order area. Add new dish washing area.” Construction is expected to span a total of 1,926 SF.
The restaurant is run by operator Jeff Glover. Local readers may recall when Glover’s generous and worker-first leadership made headlines a decade ago as he paid employees through the store’s renovations in 2015.
“It would be a real financial crisis for the 50 families represented by the workers here to have to go five months without a job,” Glover said to a local news outlet then.
