Tea cups will soon be filled at a new spot downtown.

A new concept called The Taylor Tea House at 506 Porter Street is coming soon, per a recent state filing. This is being constructed at a historic 1880s house downtown. From the company’s voicemail, an opening date is still being determined as the team is putting the finishing touches at the space.

“No clinking chaos No eavesdropping neighbors. Just you, your chosen company, and the gentle luxury of time well spent: lingering, laughing, and sipping,” says the description on their website.

The leaf tea is set to be the main draw, but the team is also serving finger sandwiches. Pictures online reveal pastries will be served, along with desserts like cupcakes and macaroons. A full menu will be released closer to the opening.

The Taylor Tea House is on the east side of Porter Street, across from Legacy Early College High School. This is also close to Taylor City Hall and a short walk to many of the other restaurants and shops downtown. Austin is about an hour drive from Taylor.

What Now Austin is awaiting comment from the owners of the tea house.
