According to recent public records, downtown hotel The Driskill is set to begin works on a steakhouse.

Documents examined by What Now Austin reveal that the $2.5 million project will span nearly 12,000 SF and consist of “Renovation of restaurant and kitchen at first floor of hotel (ground level at Seventh St. entrance).”

Construction is set to begin in May and end sometime before the end of September.

“Rich, flavorful culinary delights come part and parcel with The Driskill experience,” the hotel’s official website states.

“Our culinary team, led by Executive Chef, Mark Dayanandan, brings you artfully crafted creations melded with the flavors of Austin in fare, libations and sweet delights.”

The upcoming restaurant will complete a trifecta of in-house establishments for the popular hotel, joining the existing 1886 Café & Bakery and The Driskill Bar.

No opening date has been announced.
