The popular East Riverside teahouse Tea Cup Boba House will soon be opening a second location in south Austin, according to public records. The establishment will be located at 729 East Slaughter Lane, within Suite 201, near eateries such as Crazy Fruits South and Kome y Toma.

What Now Austin briefly spoke to store manager Victor Nhem who had very few details to share about the upcoming development.

“We’ll be serving boba drinks and smoothies,” Nhem said. “No food offerings.” (Readers should note that the original location also serves classic teas, fruit teas, and crema drinks).

When asked when the new location will open, Nhem similarly had little concrete information to provide.

“I honestly don’t know. We hope to get it done by the end of this year.”

Seeking more information, What Now Austin followed up with founder and owner Paulina Ly, but she was on vacation and found herself unable to answer questions.

In any case, readers can expect the popular boba shop to replicate its quick and refreshing customer experience in deep south Austin in a quaint 800 square foot setting, hopefully by the end of 2023.
