Urban Egg, a Colorado-based breakfast and brunch restaurant, is expanding into the Austin area, with locations planned at 7600 Burnet Road, Suite 250, and in Leander.
The company’s first Austin location is scheduled to open October 12, while a second Austin-area restaurant is planned for Leander, with an expected opening in mid 2027, according to the Austin Business Journal. CEO Mark Augarten tells ABJ that Urban Egg plans to open more locations in the Austin metro, and the company is evaluating about three to four additional sites over the next few years. Customers at the new restaurants can expect breakfast and brunch dishes, coffee, and cocktails.
The Burnet Road restaurant will span approximately 3,500 square feet and will be Urban Egg’s first location in Austin. The company currently has 16 locations, including the incoming Austin restaurant, according to its website, with three existing locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Texas is an important part of the company’s growth strategy, alongside continued expansion in Colorado and the Kansas City area.
Andrew Samples of Rise Commercial Partners represented Urban Egg in the Burnet Road deal and will continue representing the company as it searches for additional Austin-area locations. Urban Egg generally looks for spaces between 3,200 and 3,600 square feet with a patio, as well as easy access, strong daytime traffic, and convenient parking. The company has not announced an address for the planned Leander restaurant.
Urban Egg’s menu includes chicken and waffle benedicts, buttermilk biscuits with sage sausage gravy, blue corn huevos rancheros, pancakes, and house-made cinnamon rolls. Other offerings include breakfast tacos, omelets, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, and bowls, with gluten-free and plant-based options available. The beverage menu includes coffee, Bloody Marys, espresso martinis, and other breakfast cocktails.
Founded in 2012, Urban Egg is locally owned and operated and has grown to locations across Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. The company works with local vendors in each market and lists Texas partners including Texas Coffee Traders, Fiesta Tortilla, Signature Baking, and Texas Heartland Hot Sauce.
