The popular Texas burger chain Whataburger plans to begin constructing a location in Leander, according to public records. The restaurant will be located at the intersection of Hwy. 29 and Ronald Reagan Blvd, near Jersey Mike’s Subs and Bar W Ranch.
The public filing states that construction is estimated to begin February 2024 and stretch until late August, which would make for a fall 2024 opening. The location is estimated to take up 3409 square feet and cost around $2,600,000 to build.
Famous for its customizable burgers, chicken tenders, milkshakes, and breakfast options, Whataburger is a staple of Texas food culture. Describing their values and brand identity on the company website Whataburger states “Serving it hot and fresh, 24/7. Treating our customers right. Being proud of everything we do. And never forgetting where we started. Whataburger is more than a burger chain. It is a place that feels like home to more than 50,000 employees, called Family Members, and millions of customers. It’s a brand built on pride, care, and love. It’s a place people count on in their communities.”
What Now Austin briefly spoke to Jon Barideaux, VP of Operations, to inquire further information about the location, but he did not provide comment on the Leander location.
