Scobie’s, an Irish restaurant and pub, is coming to life at 512 Gallivan Blvd in Adams Village. Scobie’s is spearheaded by husband-and-wife duo John and Anne Lydon, who also own Shamrock Pub in South Boston. Drawing inspiration from rural Ireland, the forthcoming locale will offer a unique blend of Irish warmth and Dorchester charm.

The pair envisions the space as one filled with coziness and community. According to Dorchester Reporter, the establishment will feature two fireplaces, a lounge, a takeaway counter, a 17-seat bar, and ample space for 120 patrons. A snug, semi-private area reminiscent of the intimate corners found at traditional Irish pubs will add a touch of authenticity to the experience.

Taking charge in the kitchen is Dublin-born chef Robert Kearney. The menu promises a delightful blend of Irish and Irish-American comfort dishes, including a full Irish breakfast in the mornings, a variety of roasts in the evenings, and what the Lydons hope will be the best Guinness in all of Boston.

As construction progresses, the couple has set their sights on a February 2024 opening date. Stay tuned for updates as this Irish gem takes shape in the heart of Dorchester.
