The Captain’s Table and Takeaway in Wellesley will soon close its doors to make way for an exciting new concept.

The Marden family, owners of the seafood eatery at 279 Linden St, recently announced that the restaurant will shut down for renovations on December 29, 2024.

When it reopens, it will debut as Marden’s, offering a fresh dining experience with handmade pasta dishes and an expanded raw bar. The owners also plan to retain “some of your favorites in a beautiful new space we know you will love,” they shared in the announcement.

Although an exact reopening date hasn’t been finalized, the family said that they are working diligently to welcome guests back within the next couple of months.

During the transition, patrons can still enjoy offerings from Captain Marden’s Seafoods retail store and the popular food truck, The Cod Squad, both of which will remain open with extended hours throughout the renovation period.

“We are excited to announce the opening of Marden’s after a brief (we hope) refresh of the space,” reads the eatery’s website. “Stay tuned for updates and be assured the delicious and fresh seafood you have enjoyed for years will not change but only get more interesting!”
