A popular Haverhill bakery is growing its footprint on the North Shore.
Lowe’s Donuts, a specialty bakery known for its completely gluten-free, vegan, and allergen-friendly treats, is opening a second location near The Cormorant restaurant in Newburyport in early fall 2026. Founder Nicole Lowe recently announced the expansion on social media, though the exact address has not yet been revealed.

Founded in July 2023, Lowe’s Donuts specializes in baked goods designed with food allergies and dietary restrictions in mind. The bakery is completely gluten-free and vegan and free from the top nine major food allergens, as well as several other ingredients. Its menu is made without wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, fish, shellfish, coconut, oats, legumes, flax, chia, artificial dyes, or preservatives.
And there’s plenty to choose from. According to the bakery’s website, the menu features nearly 20 classic and creative donut flavors, from Vanilla Glazed and Chocolate Frosted to Chocolate Chip Neapolitan and Strawberry Oreo.
Beyond donuts, Lowe’s offers an assortment of cookies, muffins, brownies, pies, cupcakes, and “bi-scones”—a hybrid pastry combining the flaky layers of a Southern biscuit with the slightly crumbly texture of a scone.
The bakery is also expanding its beverage offerings. A new coffee and specialty drink menu is set to launch at both the Haverhill and Newburyport locations, with options including coffee, cold brew, cider, seltzers, tea, and cocoa. The drinks will feature homemade syrups and purées, along with a lineup of allergy-conscious milk alternatives, including certified gluten-free oat milk, rice milk, and homemade pumpkin seed milk.
The two locations will have slightly different setups. Lowe’s original Haverhill shop will remain a grab-and-go bakery, while the new Newburyport location will offer seating, giving customers an option to stick around with their donuts and drinks.
The Newburyport shop is slated to open in late September 2026, and Lowe is currently hiring for several positions at the new location, including front-of-house staff, assistant bakers, and cleaning staff. Interested applicants can reach out at [email protected].
