A new wine bar is gearing up to uncork its first bottles in North Cambridge.

Danielle Pattavina—the brain behind Momma’s Grocery + Wine—will soon launch Zusammen (pronounced tsoo-zamen, rhyming with ramen) at 2322 Massachusetts Ave, just a short stroll from their beloved specialty shop.

While Pattavina did not respond to requests for comment from What Now Boston, the name Zusammen—German for “together”—speaks to the bar’s core values of community and connection. This sentiment is echoed in the spot’s Instagram bio, which emphasizes a commitment to “trying radical togetherness instead.”

Zusammen will feature a carefully curated selection of wines and a small assortment of spirits. The venue will also host regular workshops, community events, and casual get-togethers, according to a job listing.

In addition to founding Momma’s, Pattavina previously ran Seaweed’s restaurant and wine bar on Martha’s Vineyard, as well as Schmetterling Wine Shop in Middlebury, Vermont. Across each venture, inclusivity has remained a central theme.

Zusammen is currently hiring, and its website notes that the bar will initially operate Fridays through Sundays from 2 p.m. to midnight, with expanded hours planned as the space evolves. Though an official opening date has not yet been announced, a recent Instagram update says that the space is “nearly there.”
