A specialty coffee chain is making its way to Boston.

Moka & Co. is preparing to open its first Massachusetts location in the city, according to a recent “coming soon” social media post from the upcoming café. An exact address has not yet been announced, but recently filed business documents indicate that the location will be franchised by North Easton resident Rukhsana Nazir through Boston Moka and Co Inc.

“Boston, a new Yemeni coffee experience is making its way to the city!” reads the Instagram announcement. “Good coffee. Good people. Good vibes. Made for slow mornings, late conversations, and everything in between. Coming soon 👀”

Founded in 2024 in Dearborn, Michigan, Moka & Co. was created by Yemen-born physician and entrepreneur Mohamed Elgahmi alongside co-founders Numan Ali, CEO; Basheer Shahbain, COO; Donald Walker, Chief Brand Officer; and Maged Qaid, Regional Manager. The group set out to build a café brand steeped in Yemeni coffee and culture, pairing unique flavors and coffee traditions with modern, thoughtfully designed spaces.

Moka & Co. takes its name from the historic Port of Mokha in Yemen, which became an important center for the coffee trade as Yemeni coffee was exported around the world. The “& Co.” is a nod to the relationships behind the business, including its connections with coffee farmers and partners, as well as the communities that gather at the company’s cafés.

Since its debut, Moka & Co. has grown rapidly and currently operates nearly 30 locations across nine states, with at least 13 more in development. The brand proudly specializes in ethically sourced, organic Yemeni coffee alongside specialty lattes, matcha, chai, and pastries.

On the menu, guests can find plenty of Yemeni-inspired options, as well as creative twists on familiar café favorites. Popular drinks include the Dubai Chocolate Latte, Mufawar Coffee, and Adeni Chai, while the pastry case features items such as Honeycomb Bread and Pistachio Croissants.

The menu also changes with the seasons, with the fall 2026 lineup featuring drinks and treats including the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Maple Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, and Caramel Apple Cheesecake.

An official opening timeline for the upcoming Boston location has not yet been announced. What Now Boston has reached out to both Nazir and the Moka & Co. corporate team for additional details—including the exact address—and will share updates as they become available.
