A new farm-to-table restaurant and market is taking root in Boston’s Seaport District.

According to Eater Boston, Kristin Canty—the restaurateur behind Woods Hill Pier 4, Woods Hill Table, and Adelita—is launching a new restaurant and curated food market called The Block. The venue will be located in the same building as Woods Hill Pier 4 at 300 Pier 4 Blvd.

Developed in collaboration with Chef Charlie Foster, the new concept will offer a more casual take on Woods Hill Pier 4. While the style may differ, it will still uphold Canty’s commitment to sustainable sourcing, with locally grown produce and meats supplied by her New Hampshire Farm, The Farm at Woods Hill.

The menu is still in development, but it will feature nutrient-rich options such as raw cheeses, in-house aged charcuterie, dry-aged beef and pork, farm-raised duck, tapas-style small plates, hearty salads, and larger entrées with roasted meats and seasonal vegetables.

The Block’s design will evoke a rustic, woodland feel, featuring plenty of murals and a dimmable plexiglass photograph of the woods. The space will also include a 24-seat bar, table seating for 34, and a chef’s table, where Canty plans to host visiting chefs and author-led classes.

The thoughtfully curated market will stock a selection of regional goodies, including treats from Goodnow Farms Chocolates in Sudbury and provisions from Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company in Woodstock. Visitors can also pick up fresh flowers and frozen meats from The Farm at Woods Hill.

Though The Block was initially slated for a late May debut, Canty told What Now Boston that the opening will likely be delayed. She expects to have a clearer timeline after a scheduled meeting this week, so stay tuned for updates.
