It looks like a new beauty destination is getting ready to make its debut in Waltham.

Olea Beauty is preparing to open in the former Blue Fusion Fitness space at 80 Trapelo Road, bringing hair, lash, and waxing services to the northwest suburbs of Boston. The salon is a collaboration between longtime hairstylist and Waltham native Melanie Thurston and Maria Hernandez, founder of Boston Lash Society.

In a recent Instagram post announcing the venture, Thurston described Olea Beauty as “a sun-drenched Mediterranean escape” designed to blend “effortless beauty” with a relaxing atmosphere.

“Something beautiful is opening just outside of Boston,” she wrote. “The secret is officially out! Maria and I are so incredibly excited to welcome you this summer to Olea Beauty in Waltham, MA. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a space that feels like a sun-drenched Mediterranean escape—think warm vibes, effortless beauty, and a place to truly unwind.”

Thurston, who trained in New York City with Bumble & Bumble, has spent more than 20 years in the beauty industry and recently became an independent stylist. According to her website, she specializes in everything from dramatic cuts and vivid fashion coloring to lived-in blonding and dimensional color services.

Hernandez founded Boston Lash Society in 2016 and is best known for her eyelash extension work. In addition to lashes, she also offers hairstyling and waxing services, previously describing herself as a “jack of all trades” to Boston Voyager.

Together, the pair says Olea Beauty will offer the signature services their clients already know and love—including expert hair styling and color, lash services, waxing, and more—all under one roof.

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, Olea Beauty is expected to welcome its first clients before the end of summer 2026. The team recently shared a social media post inviting followers to weigh in on potential storefront and signage design options as they finalize the salon’s look and branding.

“We cannot wait to open our doors and share this beautiful new chapter with you,” Thurston wrote. “Thank you all for the endless support as we build this dream. Stay tuned for our official opening date! 🤍”
