Last year, What Now Charleston reported that the Chick-fil-A situated at 1656 Savannah Hwy in West Ashley would soon be getting an overhaul. Now, that location and two others are set for updates.

The Chick-fil-A restaurants near Tanger Outlets at 4926 Centre Pointe Dr in North Charleston and at 653 Long Point Rd in Mt Pleasant are also due for renovations. It’s not yet clear if all locations will close during the updates.

The North Charleston location is currently closed for kitchen and dining room upgrades and aims to reopen in the coming months, as reported by The Post and Courier. However, Chick-fil-A hasn’t provided further details on the reopening date.

The West Ashley site will add two drive-thru lanes and expand by 500 square feet for more cold storage space, pending approval by the city’s Design Review Board. The updated restaurant would span 4,929 square feet, with a three-lane drive-thru for face-to-face ordering, reducing to two lanes for meal delivery. Franchisee Trey Campbell was unavailable for comment.

Plans for the Mt Pleasant Chick-fil-A include improved accessibility and employee canopies. These proposals will be reviewed by the town’s board on April 24. Franchisee Josh Malone could not be reached for comment.
