A Taco Bell location at 2040 Savannah Highway in West Ashley will be undergoing renovations, according to permit applications submitted to the County of Charleston.

Documents submitted to the county this week indicate that renovations totaling $500,000 are planned for the fast food restaurant. The renovations will be mostly interior, including new walls, fixtures, finishes, flooring, windows and paint. There is also a new exterior sign planned for the restaurant.

The Taco Bell location, which sits along an alley of fast food between McDonald’s and Cookout, is owned by JEM Restaurant Group, which owns over 100 Taco Bell and Pizza Hut locations across South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Most recently, they opened a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant in Kingstree.

Details have not been released on how the renovations will affect the restaurant’s opening hours.
