A family-owned Mexican restaurant from Ridgeland is set to open a second location in the Hilton Head Island area.
Alchile Mexican Bar & Grill, led by Marcello Vera Jr., will open at 1534 Fording Island Road, taking over the former Kenny B’s French Quarter Cafe location, according to a Facebook post.
“WE’RE COMING TO YOU! We will be opening our second location in HHI/Bluffton in the near future, stay tuned….,” the post read.

The menu blends authentic flavors with Texan and Californian influences, offering a range of appetizers, nachos, steaks, burritos, quesadillas, chicken dishes and seafood entrees.
Standout dishes include the Texas nachos, topped with a choice of shredded chicken or ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and signature cheese dip; the Alchile special, featuring grilled chicken over Mexican rice with cheese sauce, broccoli, onions, bell peppers and sour cream; and the Alchile burrito, filled with steak, pork carnitas, black beans, white rice, shredded cheese and pico de gallo.
To complement the menu, Alchile offers a specialty cocktail list, including the “Mangochelada,” a frozen mango margarita in a glass rimmed with chamoy and Tajín chili powder with a Coronita beer dunked inside, and the “Michelada,” made with a choice of beer, lime juice, Clamato juice, Maggi Jugo seasoning sauce, Valentina hot sauce, salt and pepper. The restaurant also offers a selection of wine and beer.
While an official opening date has not been announced, Vera told The Island Packet that Alchile Mexican Bar & Grill is aiming to open in April, just ahead of Cinco de Mayo.
