A new speakeasy-style restaurant and lounge, The Select, is headed for Charleston’s Eastside neighborhood.

Construction permits were approved for the location at 465 Meeting Street, on the ground floor of the Greystar corporate offices. Plans provided by MT Studio Architects show a stage room with a bar for live entertainment. There is currently no confirmed grand opening date for the restaurant.

This will be the second location for The Select. Owner Dave Green also operates The Select in Atlanta’s Sandy Springs, which opened in 2019 and is popular for its roaring 20s-inspired ambiance and Art Deco interiors. According to their website, The Select “was inspired by Paris’ famed Le Select, the chic 1920’s  brasserie” and serves “modern European cuisine with an open kitchen & conservatory.”

Dave Green’s other restaurant ventures include Paces & Vine in Vinings Atlanta, which closed in March of this year, and DAMSEL, an experiential dining concept inspired by Studio 54 which is slated to open at The Works in Atlanta’s Upper Westside.

The Select will be Green’s first restaurant venture in Charleston.
