A beloved ice cream brand is bringing its signature scoops to Isle of Palms with a brand-new shop this spring.

Ben & Jerry’s is set to open at Ocean Park Plaza, 1400 Palm Blvd., under franchise owner Andrew Lee, The Post and Courier reported.

Lee makes a sweet return to Isle of Palms, where his previous store enjoyed a nine-year stint and had roots on the island dating back to 2000.

Lee began as a Ben & Jerry’s franchisee in Myrtle Beach in 2009 before bringing the brand to Charleston, according to his LinkedIn page.

Scoop shops serve all the classic favorites, plus vegan non-dairy options made with oat milk, along with waffle cones, sundaes and shakes. Fan-favorite flavors include Americone Dream, The Tonight Dough, Phish Food, Half Baked and Cherry Garcia.

Ben & Jerry’s began in 1978 when founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield opened their first ice cream shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont, after taking a course in ice cream-making at Penn State, according to the website.

Over 300 scoop shops now operate across the U.S., including two near Charleston: one in Mount Pleasant and another on Kiawah Island.

Ben & Jerry’s hasn’t announced an official opening date yet, however visit the website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
