Louisville-based breakfast and brunch chain Biscuit Belly is set to open two South Carolina stores in 2024.

Lauren Coulter, who owns Biscuit Belly along with her husband Chad Coulter, confirmed to What Now Charleston that a Summerville restaurant from the growing brand is expected to open next summer.

Another location in upstate Fort Mill, owned by a franchisee, will also open in 2024.

The new restaurants mark continued expansion by the brand, who has grown from three to nine locations across the southeast in the past two years and has more than 20 restaurants in the works. Current locations sprawl across Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Alabama, and Virginia. The first North Carolina location is set to open before the end of the year.

Biscuit Belly is all about the big Southern biscuit, but also focuses on a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Their “craft casual” approach means customers order at the counter, but can expect full-service Southern hospitality at their table. On the menu are omelettes, three types of gravy, and biscuit sandwiches with everything from brisket to fried green tomatoes. For the sweet tooth, they offer pancakes, french toast, and biscuit donut holes.

Biscuit Belly is expected to open in downtown Summerville at the corner of Richardson and Central Aves in July or August of 2024. Coulter told What Now Charleston that they are seeking further opportunities to expand in the Charleston area. Until then, follow them on Instagram for more.
