A new steakhouse is set to heat up Savannah’s dining scene.
Bull and Barrel is preparing to open in the former La Scala Ristorante space at 119 E. 37th St., joining its existing location in Statesboro, according to SavannahMadeSimple.
The steakhouse, which opened in 2018, is owned and operated by acclaimed restaurateurs and friends Jason Franklin, Jim Peery and John Adam.
“Every detail, from the hand-selected cuts of prime beef to the curated wine list and thoughtfully designed dining rooms, reflects the same attention and intention as some of the finest dining establishments across the Southeast,” the restaurant’s website reads.
Bull and Barrel serves classic dishes reimagined with a modern twist, all paired with warm Southern hospitality.
Brunch highlights shrimp and grits with blackened shrimp over a grit cake, chicken and waffles topped with hot honey and a Prime Rib Benedict with horseradish hollandaise.
Dinner features hand-cut steaks, pan-seared salmon, blackened grouper with Cajun crawfish cream, Romano-crusted chicken over angel hair pasta and Low Country crab cakes. Guests can share small plates such as smoked pork belly, a deviled egg flight or loaded cheese fries, and choose sides ranging from creamed spinach to sweet potato soufflé.
Signature drinks include the Hibiscus Aperol Spritz with Aperol, hibiscus and Champagne; the 75 Millimeter with Empress 1908 gin, peach, lemon and Champagne; and the Bourbon Blackberry Sidecar with Four Roses bourbon, Cointreau, blackberry, lemon and thyme. The Prickly Pear Margarita adds a twist with Teremana tequila, prickly pear reduction and fresh citrus, offering a refreshing balance.
Although the restaurant hasn’t announced an official opening date, check its website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
