Earlier this year, What Now Charleston reported that old-school burger joint Burky’s Grill was hoping to reopen soon in Myrtle Beach. Now, more information has been released.

Owner Wayne Burkart recently announced on the Burky’s Grill Facebook page that the 4001 N Kings Hwy restaurant is set to reopen in January 2025. He told The Sun News that the goal is to welcome customers in the first week of January, pending approval of plans and permits.

In addition to its award-winning hamburgers and hot dogs, Burky’s Grill offers a variety of classic diner fare, including fries, chili, baked potatoes, fried bologna, soft serve, and milkshakes.

A fire forced Burky’s to close in December 2023, and despite initial plans to reopen soon after, delays due to COVID-related insurance issues kept the restaurant shuttered for nearly a year.

“Get ready to come by and see what makes us a local favorite!” wrote Burkart.
