A popular Myrtle Beach Italian restaurant has temporarily closed after bringing on new management earlier this month.

Cafe Vincenzo’s, located at 7710 N. Kings Hwy., has its windows covered in paper. A sign on the front door says the owners hired a new management team and they did not run the restaurant to the owners standards, according to The Sun News.

“Unfortunately, this resulted in a decline in the quality and reputation that so many of you came to know and love,” the outlet reported the sign read.

The owners plan to restore the restaurant before reopening and aim to offer better food, improved service and a “renewed dedication to excellence.”

A Facebook post in the public group “MYRTLE VEGAS” on July 1 congratulated the new management, saying the new co-owners “bring years of experience in the restaurant and nightlife industry to the table and will undoubtedly be a huge success on their new venture.”

What Now Charleston contacted the original owners about the closure and the Facebook post, but they have not yet responded.

Cafe Vincenzo’s menu includes classic Italian dishes, gourmet pizzas and hearty entrées. Appetizers feature mussels marinara, eggplant rollatini and cold antipasto. Salads range from traditional Caesar to chopped Malibu, with optional protein add-ons.

The restaurant offers 12- and 16-inch pizzas, with specialty options such as fig and prosciutto, pesto grilled chicken and burrata with arugula. Pasta dishes include baked ziti, penne alla vodka, Maryland crab ravioli and gnocchi Bolognese.

Entrées like chicken Parmesan, veal Marsala and eggplant rollatini come with soup or salad. The menu also includes a kids section, sides, and desserts such as tiramisu and cannolis.

The restaurant has not announced a reopening date. This article may be updated.
