Locally-owned café Caviar & Bananas has set their sights on expansion following a recent closure.

The gourmet market and café announced on Instagram last month that their Charleston Internatinal Airport location would be closing unexpectedly due to redevelopment by the airport’s hospitality management group, Delaware North.

But a new café is on the way in 2024, according to a representative. The Caviar & Bananas CEO told What Now Charleston that they are in the process of finalizing the lease for a new location. It’s too soon to share specifics, but fans can expect more details by the end of the year. He also added that they are looking to add even more locations in Charleston and seeking the commercial space to do so.

Caviar & Bananas opened their flagship location on George Street in downtown Charleston in 2010. They serve a variety of gourmet sandwiches, salads and breakfast options along with coffee and ice cream. A second location opened at Medical University of South Carolina in March of this year.
