A Domino’s Pizza franchise has joined the list of restaurants that will open in the forthcoming Gates at Point Hope shopping center in 2024.

The location will be operated by local Domino’s franchisee Kevin Kerchenko, who currently owns ten other locations in the Charleston area. Kerchenko began franchising for the company two years ago after more than a decade working for Domino’s corporate.

“We’re excited about being on the ground floor of this amazing community that’s going to develop over the next two to five years,” Kerchenko told What Now Charleston.

The Gates at Point Hope are a commercial continuation of the master plan for a mixed-use community on Daniel Island by the DI Development Company. Another retail center, the Point Hope Commons, opened in 2022 with a Publix, Jersey Mike’s, Famulari’s Pizza, and Coach’s Canteen.

The Gates, located on Clements Ferry Road at Pulitzer Street, is slated to include a Dunkin’ Donuts, Ye Olde Fashioned Ice Cream Shoppe, and Catrina’s Tacos & Tequila, according to recent reporting by the Daniel Island News. The first restaurants and retailers are expected to open in early 2024.

Kerchenko shared with What Now Charleston that he expects a grand opening for the new Domino’s around the second week of January 2024.
