A popular Mexican food truck in Aiken is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
Dos Potrillos Mexican Restaurant, owned by the Garibay family, will open at 119 Laurens St., taking over the former Proper Plate location, according to a Facebook post.
They currently operate at 2286 SC-19 as a pop-up, featuring a food truck, tent and outdoor seating for guests.
“Opening a food service has been my family’s dream for many years and to be able to finally share the authentic Mexican food my family and I eat on a daily basis with the rest of the world is MORE THAN A BLESSING!” the Facebook page bio reads.

Meats range from chicken and steak to pork pastor, chorizo, birria and carnitas, all topped with fresh ingredients like peppers, onions, parsley, jalapeños and a squeeze of lime, along with red, green and hot sauces.
