A Charleston restaurant serving the community for more than a decade is reopening its doors with exciting, new additions this fall.

Eli’s Table is owned by Sam Mustafa of Charleston Hospitality Group, which operates 11 restaurants, including John King Grill and Dueling Piano Bar, Queology, Honkytonk and Toast! All Day. Eli’s and Toast! are joining forces at 129 Meeting St.

“The building definitely needed renovation. We had some leak issues, kitchen size and the courtyard–we redid the courtyard. It’s a really, really green space. We actually combined two restaurants into one. We redid the space to identify each concept. It’s two rooms, two different colors,” Mustafa told What Now Charleston.

He continued, “The bar at Eli’s was really small, only about five seats total. The new bar has maybe 15 or 16 seats. It had a drop ceiling before. Now, it’s a really high ceiling. We exposed the ceiling, the woods, the rafters–it really needed it. The place is beautiful. It’s a lot chicer.”

Eli’s will continue serving favorites such as the Duck and Waffle, featuring seared duck breast with pearl sugar waffles, seasonal vegetables and maple bacon glaze, along with the Foragers’ Angus filet and Eli’s ribeye, both served with fried smashed potatoes. The restaurant will also debut a variety of new dishes the team is eager to share.

“We have a duty to change every life that comes through the door with a mission to go out there and inspire people to do the same thing–lead with love, give to grow, be a blessing and live to inspire,” Mustafa said. “I’m very proud of the team. They’re really excited. They understand the mission, the vision behind the concept and they want to make a difference.”

Toast! will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Eli’s opening for dinner service at 5 p.m.

“We already opened it as Toast! in the morning and the feedback is amazing. It’s a great space, cozy, not overwhelming. It’s very clean and cheerful,” he said.
