It’s not a goodbye, but a “look forward to seeing you soon,” as a brewery prepares to pour one last pint before reopening the tap in a new location.
After five years in Summerville, Frothy Beard Off World will close its second location at 117 S. Main St. on Saturday, Feb. 28, according to a Facebook post.
“The goal was simple: to share the Frothy experience, our delicious food and craft beers with even more members of our community. It’s been quite the adventure to say the least! As times change and we near the end of our lease on Hutchinson Square, we have made the calculated and difficult decision not to renew as we seek our next property,” the post read.
The team is searching for a new location where they can host more events, add a patio to “enjoy the Lowcountry weather,” and build an experimental brewhouse to craft new beers. They also plan to expand the Off World kitchen to include their specialty pizzas.
Until the team secures a new location, the West Ashley taproom will remain open and operating at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.
“Several of the Summerville team members will be transferring down so please come by to say hello to old friends and make some new ones alike. We’ve got a lot of fun events and projects we’re working on and can’t wait to share all that is ahead!” the post continued.
Frothy Beard brews will also remain available at bars, restaurants and craft retailers across Charleston.
“Until we set sail once again, we hope to see everyone in West Ashley where we can raise a pint, share a laugh, and do what we do best – serve our amazing community,” the post concluded.
The Summerville location will operate as usual through Feb. 28, except on Feb. 20, when it will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
