The original Grit Counter, located at 320 Wingo Way #100 in Mt Pleasant, recently announced the end of its lunch service. Owner Frank Kline has decided to fully devote the space to its sister restaurant, Grace & Grit.
Kline has plans to renovate the space, with the primary aim of enhancing dining availability for Grace & Grit patrons, as well as creating “an even more special” private event venue. The precise start date for renovations remains undisclosed at this time.
Grace & Grit has garnered recognition for its surf ‘n’ turf dishes paired with creatively flavored grits, while Grit Counter is known for its fast-casual flair and distinctly Southern charm, presenting Lowcountry classics like The Original Grit Bowl. Both establishments offer a diverse menu featuring grit flights, shrimp n grits, assorted bowls, salads, and sides, with many selections highlighting a grits theme.
What began as a modest lunch spot at Grit Counter has blossomed into a standalone establishment in North Charleston. This branch remains operational, with former staff from the Mt Pleasant venue now working there.
Stay tuned for updates on renovations, menu offerings, and the grand opening date as Grace & Grit takes shape at the former home of Grit Counter.
