Florida-based fast food chain Huey Magoo’s is gearing up to open its second lowcountry location in Goose Creek.

Architectural plans were approved this week for modifications to a former Bojangles building at the Crowfield Village shopping center on St James Avenue near Goose Creek Boulevard. The building will be refit to become a Huey Magoo’s.

The location is being opened by franchise partners HB Tenders LLC, who opened the area’s first Huey Magoo’s in North Charleston at the Tanger Outlets in January. Franchise Operator Eddie Ward told What Now Charleston the group have plans to open at least two more of the chicken restaurants in the Charleston area, and hope to continue growing that number in the future. The group also operates several Columbia-area locations.

Huey Magoo’s is a fast casual and drive-through chain whose menu centers on their famous chicken tenders, which they offer grilled or fried. Other menu options include chicken sandwiches, salads and Southern sides.

The Goose Creek Huey Magoo’s is anticipated to open before the end of 2023.
