Bold flavors are smoking their way into Carolina Forest.
Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q plans to open a location next to Chick-fil-A on Rodeo Drive off U.S. 501, according to The Sun News.
The barbecue chain got its start in 1985 in a former pizza restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama. It now operates 61 locations across six states: South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
This will mark the fifth South Carolina location, joining existing restaurants in Bluffton, North Charleston, Spartanburg and Indian Land.
The aim is to celebrate Southern flavors and the heritage of barbecue chefs and pitmasters, using fresh, never-frozen ingredients.
The menu features comfort food, with starters like onion rings, loaded queso, smoked wings with a variety of sauces, deviled eggs and brisket mac and cheese bombs.
Main dishes include pulled pork, Carolina-style pork, beef brisket smoked for 12 hours, barbecued chicken and smoked turkey, served with traditional sides like baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, mac and cheese, barbecued corn on the cob, collard greens and French fries.
Additional options include fried catfish and chicken tenders. Ribs are offered by the pound, while sandwiches and burgers on potato buns highlight smoked meats and classic toppings.
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the outlet reported construction is underway. Visit the Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
