Low Tide Brewing is planning a second location on Johns Island, right next to Trophy Lake off Maybank Highway.

Brewery owner Mike Fielding told What Now Charleston that the new spot still has a ways to go and would not be open before 2026. “This has been in the works for a long time and we’re still getting through the zoning process and other things. We’re still in the design phase and nothing is set in stone yet,” Fielding said.

Low Tide Brewing has been serving a variety of beers and seltzers out of its original Johns Island location since 2016. While they don’t have an onsite kitchen, they host a number of food trucks in their outdoor space. The new space will likely be much larger and will double as a restaurant.

Fielding had always dreamt of opening up his own brewery and started making beer out of the basement of his fraternity house. Today, Low Tide Brewing has won numerous accolades and is consistently recognized as one of South Carolina’s best breweries.
