A colorful new spot for Mexican-style desserts is coming to North Charleston.

La Michoacana Ice Cream has leased a 1,500-square-foot space at 5070 International Blvd, Unit 111, as reported by SC Biz News. Owners Pamela Sierra and Jaime Tinoco confirmed this development with What Now Charleston.

Sierra and Tinoco also own El Molino Supermarket on Rivers Ave, a Mexican market that debuted in 2020.

The original La Michoacana Ice Cream location operates within the supermarket, offering a wide array of snacks and treats, including pressed juices, fruit slices, eloté street corn, fresh fruit frescas, ramen, ice cream, bubble waffles, breakfast waffle boxes, mangonadas, artisanal popsicles, and more. However, Sierra noted that the new shop will focus exclusively on artisanal Mexican ice cream and popsicles.

In addition to the ice cream shop, Sierra said that she plans to open a Mexican coffee shop in Hanahan.

La Michoacana Ice Cream is slated to open its second North Charleston spot this November.
