An upscale Italian restaurant is set to open in downtown Charleston.

Legami is coming to 492 King St, as indicated by recent permits filed with the city.

Last year, What Now Charleston reported that the Ropolo family was planning to bring their New England Italian restaurant chain, Pasta Beach, to the King St space. However, it appears those plans have changed.

The new concept will still be operated by the Ropolos, who bring a strong familial touch to the venture. Sons John Eldredge and Tyler will manage operations and oversee restaurant design, respectively.

While specific details about Legami remain under wraps for now, a recent post on the Charleston, SC Job Search Facebook group suggests that the restaurant is slated to open before the end of October 2024.

The restaurant’s Google Business and Instagram pages confirm a fall opening, promising “epic Italian” cuisine. The eatery is currently hiring for multiple positions.

What Now Charleston has reached out to the Ropolo family for additional information and will provide updates as they become available.
