Fuel Cantina, located in the heart of Downtown Charleston, announced its closure on social media. A popular restaurant, it will serve its last meal on December 20. The restaurant expressed appreciation for the community and its staff for their loyalty and support.
Charleston’s Fuel Cantina to Shut Down After 15-Year Run
After 15 years serving the Charleston community, Fuel Cantina, a local favorite, is closing down. The pub served dishes with Caribbean flair, but its biggest draw was the unique setting, a 1950s gas station transformed into a restaurant with a spacious patio. The menu includes shrimp, braised pork, and fish tacos.
In an Instagram post, the restaurant shared, “After more than 15 incredible years serving the Charleston community, the time has come for us to say farewell. Our final day of service will be Saturday, December 20.”
In the post, the restaurant stated, “There’s never an easy or convenient moment to close a restaurant, but we’re ready to turn the page and embrace a new chapter.”

The restaurant thanked its loyal customers for years of support. The team said, “We invite you to join us for one last pain reliever, one last taco, and one last game of bocce as we celebrate the memories made together. We are humbled and honored to have been part of your lives. Much love.”
Community’s Response on Social Media

Upon learning of the restaurant’s closure, several loyal customers and patrons were saddened. Supporters shared memories and messages on the restaurant’s Instagram page.
One of the customers wrote, “Lived right across the street 15 years ago; it was a good era! Most definitely will be missed; the place changes more and more every day!”
A former employee of the restaurant said, “Best college job ever. I’ll tell my kids about Fuel Cantina, mark my words.”
As Fuel Cantina approaches its final day, the team is inviting guests to stop by for their favorite dishes one last time.
