Local Mount Pleasant restaurant Mario’s Peruvian Chicken is at work opening their second location in North Charleston, coming in October.

The popular chicken spot is expanding with a new storefront at 4948 Centre Pointe Drive, in the Tanger Outlets shopping Center next to Seasons of Tokyo.

The two Obregon brothers, Mario C. & Mario A., opened their first location in Mount Pleasant in 2018. They serve slow-roasted rotisserie chicken in the tradition of their home country, Peru. Everything about their offering is authentic, from the herb-crusted skin and 24-hour marinade inspired by their grandmother’s recipe to the custom brick ovens, built with materials brought back from Peru.

Now, they’re ready to do it again in North Charleston. Mario C. Obregon confirmed to What Now Charleston that the new restaurant will retain the same menu, serving the favorites that made their flagship location successful, like lomo salatado, chicha morada, and pollo a la brasa.

The new restaurant is currently under construction and plans to open on or around October 15th of this year.
